Having completed another project on this quiet road in Barnes, we were asked to completely re-model this 5-bedroom detached house set in the prestigious late 1980’s Harrods Village estate. Keeping the road frontage harmonious with similar properties nearby it was possible to open-up the rear of the property to embrace the rear garden and London Wetland Area beyond.

Internally the interior was pulled apart allowing original small rooms to be re-planned with a more sensitive and efficient use of space.  The roof was re-designed to accommodate an artist’s studio with north-light and spectacular views over the Barnes Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust site to the south. Approval was granted for a two-storey side extension providing extra family bedroom & bathroom suites with generous a Living Room below. The completed house blends comfortable contemporary design with the spirit of the original vision of the estate.
