Our clients appointed Snell David as they were impressed with their obvious love for Arts and Crafts houses and their variety of approaches to the extensions that they had carried out. ‘Flint Walls’ was designed by the architect ‘J.S.Brocklesby’ who completed many houses in Merton Park. The cottage had been occupied for a number of years by the same owner, who apart from replacing the original steel windows with inappropriate upvc, had carried out very little maintenance or changes to the property.

 

The brief was to add an extension, convert the loft, and update the property to suit a young family without losing the very special quality of the original house in its enclosed garden.
