THE AVENUE

CHOBHAM, SURREY

Due to Green Belt limitations Snell David were presented with the challenge of re-working the layout of this property without increase to the overall area. This provided the opportunity to modernise the house with optimum use of space at the same time as improving thermal efficiency.

Original proposals to replace the roof were side-lined for budgetary reasons but removing the tile-hanging, adding insulated external render and replacing windows and doors helped to create a new character for the house. This was further enhanced by adding a new front porch and replacing the original conservatory with a more permanent single-storey extension. This theme was extended to the garage building (with flat above) which was enlarged by creating mansards to the front and rear.
