THE OLD RECTORY

ESSEX

Snell David were asked by their clients to remove some unsightly alterations made in the 1970’s to the Victorian wing of this substantial Grade 2 listed former Rectory.

Apart from general updating and the replacement of ugly windows, the principal alterations involved integrating the former servants quarters into the main house to create additional bedrooms / bathrooms and study on the first floor, and on the ground floor improving the outlook from the kitchen family room onto the terrace and garden. Lastly, a lean-to outbuilding was demolished to make way for a new single storey structure to accommodate a new utility and boot room.
